Every 15 August, the volunteers of the Langrune-sur-Mer festival committee bring out seven floats they have built entirely themselves, on a theme that changes every year, and parade them through the village streets before a crowd packed along the pavements.
It is a village celebration of a kind that has become rare, and it takes place two kilometres from the campsite: on 15 August, Langrune-sur-Mer parades. Seven floats, built over several weeks by the volunteers of the festival committee on a theme chosen each year, cross the village among residents, holidaymakers and children gathering confetti. The day continues with entertainment and the village dance. From Luc-sur-Mer you get there along the seafront, on foot or by bike, without ever leaving the coast.

The parade is organised by the Langrune-sur-Mer festival committee. The start time and the programme for the day are announced by the town during the summer.

The seafront path runs unbroken from Luc-sur-Mer to Langrune-sur-Mer: it is the most pleasant route, and the only one that avoids hunting for a parking space on a festival day.

You watch from the pavements, no ticket needed. The village streets are closed to traffic while the floats pass: it is best to arrive a little before the announced time.

Seven floats, weeks of work
Each float is built from scratch by the festival committee volunteers: frame, scenery, costumes, music. The theme changes every year — heroes of all kinds for the latest edition — and you recognise the village shopkeepers, clubs and families up on the platforms.
The procession crosses the village at walking pace, the brass band in front and the children behind. It is short, warmly applauded, and followed by a day of entertainment that lasts into the evening.
Langrune, twenty minutes along the seafront
Langrune-sur-Mer is the town next to Luc: two kilometres of seafront separate them, covered on foot between two tides or by bike in five minutes. Its 13th-century church, its beach and its rocks are worth the trip even outside festival days.
On 15 August the day organises itself: the parade in early afternoon at Langrune, the walk back along the beach, and in the evening the Sea Festival and its fireworks at Luc-sur-Mer, right by the campsite.
15 August on the Côte de Nacre
15 August alone brings together the Langrune parade, the Luc-sur-Mer Sea Festival and its fireworks: three events less than two kilometres from the campsite, all free and all reachable on foot or by bike.
It is also the busiest week of the summer: for a family cottage around 15 August you need to book several months ahead.
