The Tribute FestTwo days of open-air rock, a ten-minute walk from the campsite
On the last weekend in June, the seafront of Luc-sur-Mer turns into an open stage: tribute bands play Nirvana, The Doors, AC/DC, Indochine or Manu Chao, facing the Channel, and entry is free.
The Tribute Fest was born in a small seaside resort on the Côte de Nacre and has stayed there: two days of concerts, a stage set up a few dozen metres from the waves, bands bringing cult rock repertoires back to life, and thousands of spectators from all over the Calvados. It is a village festival — free, family-friendly, and one you leave on foot once the last note has faded. The La Capricieuse campsite is at the end of the promenade.

The town of Luc-sur-Mer announces the line-up in spring, band by band. The dates of the following edition are usually confirmed as early as winter.

The stage is set up on the seafront car park, at the western end of the resort. From the rue Brummel you walk along the sea wall: it is the finest way to get there, and the only one that avoids the weekend traffic.

The festival is organised by the town of Luc-sur-Mer. Concerts follow one another in the late afternoon and evening; refreshments and food are available on site. Bring a jumper — the wind rarely drops by the water.

A stage fifty metres from the waves
The idea behind the Tribute Fest comes down to one word: homage. Specialist bands play an entire repertoire — the grunge of Nirvana, the electric blues of The Doors, the sheer power of AC/DC, the rock songs of Indochine — with the sound, the instruments and sometimes the look of the originals. You go there to sing along, not to discover.
The stage stands on the seafront: between two songs you can hear the sea, and the sun sets behind the sea wall during the concert. It is that setting, as much as the line-up, that brings the audience back every year.
Walking home, without getting back in the car
That is the advantage of a seaside festival when you are staying nearby: the evening ends with a stroll along the sea wall, not with a hunt for a parking space. Children who did not last until the end are in bed ten minutes later.
At the campsite the bar stays open for a last drink, and the heated water park is waiting the next morning — because a festival weekend with the family is best slept off in water at thirty degrees.
The last weekend in June goes quickly
The Tribute Fest falls just before the summer holidays, when the Côte de Nacre begins to fill up. The cottages and pitches for that weekend are among the first booked of the season: it is best to plan in winter, especially for a two- or three-night stay.
The campsite is open from 3 April to 1 November in 2026, and from 2 April to 31 October in 2027.
