Going camping at the last minute is often easier than you think, as long as you choose accommodation where everything is already ready. At La Capricieuse, a five-star Yelloh Village campsite in Luc-sur-Mer, the cottages are equipped for four to eight people, heated and furnished, and in the 4-flower and Premium cottages even the bed linen is provided: all that is left is to pack your bags. Availability is shown in real time on our booking site. At the end of the season, the last window is the autumn half-term: the campsite stays open until 1st November 2026, heated indoor pools included.

Cottages ready to live in

An improvised holiday does not cope well with improvising on site. The cottages at La Capricieuse are handed over ready: kitchen equipped with crockery, separate bedrooms, bathroom, heating in every room and a covered terrace. Ten options sit side by side, from the 3-flower cottage to the Premium for eight, including a cottage adapted for people with reduced mobility.

The accommodation pages detail each option: floor area, beds, equipment. Enough to choose in a few minutes, then check straight away what is still free.

Whatever the weather

Norman weather no longer decides anything

You book at the last minute because you have seen the forecast; in Normandy, you know it can turn. The campsite's water park is covered and heated to thirty degrees: a grey sky spoils neither the swimming, nor the slide, nor the children's afternoon.

And when the sun comes out, the beach of Luc-sur-Mer is fifty metres from the campsite entrance: you walk down, no car, no hunting for a parking space.

Children busy from day one

A short stay leaves no time to look for activities. Here they are on site: kids' club for 5 to 12-year-olds, games room, playgrounds and paths where children can cycle safely. Outside the peak season, the club runs five days out of seven, included in your stay.

During the autumn half-term, the programme takes on Halloween colours. For days out, our ideas around the campsite are gathered on the page what to do during the October half-term in Normandy.

Dinner on the first evening, no shopping

Arrive at the end of the day and have dinner without preparing anything: the campsite restaurant and bar serve every day, lunch and dinner, until the end of the season, and the bakery provides bread and pastries for the next morning.

That is often what makes the difference between a successful spur-of-the-moment weekend and one spent looking for an open supermarket.

Booking

The last weeks of the 2026 season

The 2026 season ends on 1st November. Until then, the French autumn school holidays, from 17 October to 2 November, are the most popular period of the late season: they are also the last availability of the year.

The 2027 season will open on 2 April and close on 7 November 2027: bookings are already open.
